Chicago, IL – First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival continue with the Sundance Grand Jury and Independent Spirit Award nominee The Pool, screening on Tuesday, November 3rd at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark beginning at 6 p.m. Editor Barry Poltermann and composers Didier Leplae and Joe Wong will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion with the audience.
The Marquee Sponsor for these First Tuesday festivities is Flashpoint Academy, who will be presenting our popular pre-show Producers Panel on Tuesday, November 3rd as well.
Film Synopsis: A boy working in a hotel becomes obsessed with a swimming pool in the opulent hills of Panjim, Goa in India. His life gets turned upside down when he attempts to meet the mysterious family that arrives at the house. Written and directed by Chris Smith (American Movie, The Yes Men). John Cassavetes Award Nominee, Independent Spirit Awards. Grand Jury Prize Nominee and Special Jury Prize Winner, Sundance Film Festival.
Screening Information: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 -- screening begins with a Pre-Show Cocktail Reception (sponsored by Templeton Rye, Death’s Door Spirits and Candid Wines) at Landmark Century Centre Cinema (2828 North Clark) at 6 p.m. The evening’s Producers Panel is being presented by Flashpoint Academy and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the theater. The Pool screens promptly at 7:30 p.m. A post-screening reception will be held immediately following the film at Forno Diablo, 433 West Diversey.
