Chicago, IL – With Opening Day right around the corner, First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival continue with the award-winning baseball documentary BALLHAWKS on Tuesday, April 5th at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark beginning at 6 p.m. Narrated by Bill Murray, BALLHAWKS is the story of the men who chase baseballs and dreams on the streets outside of Wrigley Field. Director (and Ogilvy & Mather Executive Producer) Mike Diedrich will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion with the audience.
Film Synopsis:
BALLHAWKS is the story of the men, who for the last 90 years have chased baseball history just outside the ivy covered walls of Wrigley Field. In what could be their last year due to the shadow of Wrigley Field bleacher expansion, the Ballhawks resolve will once again be tested., Home run balls hit out of Wrigley are always valuable. But this year they could be priceless. Will the Ballhawks handle the pressure or will they wilt under the August heat, crush of the crowds and the impending expansion? Directed by Mike Diedrich, narrated by Bill Murray.
Screening Information: Tuesday, April 5, 2011 -- screening begins with a Pre-Show Cocktail Reception (sponsored by Heineken, The Hidden Shamrock on Halsted and Candid Wines) at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema (2828 North Clark) at 6 p.m. The Producers Panel will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the theater.
