RED CLIFF synopsis:
 
Legendary action director John Woo’s latest epic is an historical adaptation of the book Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms. RED CLIFF revolves around the naval Battle of Red Cliffs during the final days of the Han Dynasty.  Set in 208 A.D., Prime Minster Cao Cao convinces Emperor Han that the only way to unite all of China is to declare war on the kingdoms of Xu in the west and East Wu in the south, thus beginning a military campaign of unprecedented scale and one of the most famous historical events in Chinese history.
