It's time for our Comedic Shorts Program!

June 2nd will also be "Macprofessionals Night at The Midwest Independent Film Festival!"


Chicago, IL - Get ready to laugh your face off!  First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival continue with the 2009 Comedic Shorts Program, presented by Macprofessionals, screening on Tuesday, June 2nd at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark beginning at 6 p.m.  This laughworthy lineup includes the latest and greatest from Chicago stalwarts Scott Smith and Steve Delahoyde as well as the highly anticipated world premiere of Martini Girls, directed by Nothing Like the Holidays executive producer Reid BrodyAll filmmakers will be in attendance along with representative cast and crew for a post-screening discussion with the audience.


June 2nd will also be "Macprofessionals Night at The Midwest Independent Film Festival" and will feature an invaluable seminar from Macprofessionals' Jon Rutherford!  Details coming up later this month!

WORLD PREMIERE!  MARTINI GIRLS.  A tumultuous night out on the town for two unsuspecting urbanites.  Co-directed by Nothing Like the Holidays executive producer Reid Brody and Byron Hatfield, produced by Richard Simms, starring David Pasquesi, Hanie Lynch and a host of top-tier Chicago improvisers!

 

WORLD PREMIERE!  SPECIAL NEEDS.  One couple’s movie night takes an unexpected turn.  Directed by award-winning filmmaker and commercial creative director Scott Smith, produced by John Fromstein and Fulton Market Films.  Stars Second City mainstage vets Brad Morris and Emily Wilson.

 

WORLD PREMIERE!  SURVIVING THE NEW DEPRESSION.  If you are wondering where you can make some money during this bad economy, here are some tips from filmmaker Steve Delahoyde, who was named one of the Chicago Tribune’s “top five buzzworthy filmmakers,” with some help from Schadenfreude funnypeople Kate James, Sandy Marshall and Justin Kaufmann.


 

 

Screening Information: Tuesday, June 2nd -- festivities begin with a Pre-Show Cocktail Reception (sponsored by GUINNESS Draught) at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema (2828 North Clark) at 6 p.m.  The Macprofessionals independent filmmaking seminar will begin in the theatre at 6:30 p.m.  Comedic Shorts hit the screen promptly at 7:30 p.m.  Post-screening reception generously hosted by Forno Diablo, 433 West Diversey.  Tickets for this premiere event range from $10-15 and include entry into all of the evening's festivities.
