Garlin comedy I WANT SOMEONE TO EAT CHEESE WITH

Also: Best of the Midwest Award nominees announced!

Chicago, IL - The Midwest Independent Film Festival will offer its audience an exclusive screening of I WANT SOMEONE TO EAT CHEESE WITH on Tuesday, November 6th.  Chicago native Jeff Garlin of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM fame wrote, directed and stars in this poignant and humorous look at a man in search of a soul mate.

Sid Smith of the Chicago Tribune deems I WANT SOMEONE TO EAT CHEESE WITH “a scrumptious, four-star buffet” while Aaron Hills of Premiere Magazine calls the comedy “sweetly neurotic… evokes Woody Allen’s early faves.”

OPENING FILM: BUBBLE-RAMA, starring Annie Parisse (Law and Order) and Ed Kerr (Men in Trees)!  BUBBLE-RAMA is an independent comedy about the collision between life, art and high-rise living.  This film is underwritten by The Peshtigo, a Related Midwest property and the sponsor of tonight's screening!

FEATURE FILM: James (Garlin) is a frustrated and underappreciated Chicago actor who lives with his mother and has only really wanted three things in life: someone to love him, a great part, and to lose weight. Unfortunately, he is 0 for 3. His girlfriend dumps him, he loses the title role in a remake of Paddy Chayefsky's Marty to teen idol Aaron Carter, and he sneaks out of an Overeaters Anonymous meeting only to wind up at an ice cream parlor. There, he meets Beth (Sarah Silverman) who quickly wins his heart but will this cause James more problems than it solves?  Or has he finally found someone to eat cheese with?  Appearances by Bonnie Hunt, Amy Sedaris, Dan Castellaneta, Wallace Langham, Roger Bart, Paul Mazursky, David Pasquesi, and Joey Slotnick
