Celebrating the voices and vision of Midwest Filmmakers
Where Midwestern filmmakers take center stage, the Midwest Film Festival exists to celebrate, connect, and amplify regional storytelling.
At the Midwest Film Festival, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is to showcase and celebrate the exceptional talent of regionally produced cinema while supporting and empowering the filmmakers behind it.
As the nation’s only year-round film festival exclusively dedicated to Midwestern filmmakers, we are committed to building diverse audiences, offering meaningful educational resources, and fostering an inclusive community rooted in genuine connection. Through this work, we contribute to the growth and vitality of the local film industry—helping ensure its continued success and lasting impact.
The Midwest Film Festival is partially supported by a CityArts Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, as well as a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
