2020 Comedy Shorts
The Midwest Film Festival is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow by giving viewers access to our Comedy Shorts Program online, free of charge for the entire month of May. Originally presented in February as the 2020 season opener program, there are 10 films available to view that touch on a wide variety of topics, all with one goal – to make you laugh!
Like many organizations throughout Chicago, Midwest Film Festival plays an important part in the creative community, and is facing the challenge to stay financially strong through this time. In tandem with the release of new online content, MFF is launching a Facebook fundraiser for #GivingTuesdayNow, and it’s an ideal way to show appreciation for the online programming. Any donation will make a difference and help ensure the future of the MFF.
We hope to spread some joy and create unity among the members and supporters of the fest. Currently, our events are ‘on hold’ so we’ve decided to present our very first online program. The comedy shorts are highly entertaining, and we invite everyone watch and experience what MFF is all about, be a part of it.
Although the way forward for movie theaters is uncertain, MFF is hopeful the June event ‘Union & Indie Passion Projects,’ can take place at the Gene Siskel Film Center as planned. Female Filmmakers night was cancelled in April and will be rescheduled.
