Best of the Midwest Awards Gala

Jan. 17, 2019
7:00pm - 11:00pm
@The Promontory Chicago, 5311 S. Lake Park Ave. West, Chicago, Illinois

It's time for the Best of the Midwest Awards and this year’s gala will be extra special-- and on a special night!

On Thursday, January 17th, we will be celebrating the finest in Midwest filmmaking as well an exceptional year and new era for the Midwest Independent Film Festival. The Best of the Midwest Awards will recognize the premier films and filmmakers featured throughout the 2018 season at the festival and recognized by your nominee votes!

A new tradition calls for a new venue. We’ll be holding the event at The Promontory in the heart of Hyde Park. The Promontory’s upstairs music venue is dedicated to celebrating the eras when spacious ballrooms and jumping jazz clubs made Chicago’s South Side the capital of American music.

“The Best of the Midwest Awards honors and spotlights not only the nominees and award recipients, but, in fact, shows the strength of the entire Midwest film community. We’re excited to have The Promontory as our partners in elevating the celebration this year, and are thrilled to have a partner so very aligned with our values of serving the entire creative community.” said Midwest Independent Film Festival Executive Director Amy Guth.

The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by very special musical guest, renowned DJ Ca$hEra, on the heels of her performance at this summer's North Coast Music Festival, and recent UK tour.

In addition to the awards ceremony and great music, tickets include: food, sweet  treats from Chicago pastry chef Camelia Bakes, opening cocktial time sponsored by SAGIndie, delicious beer and cider throughout the evening courtesy of Goose Island and Virtue Cider,  and a special tequila cocktail and specialty tequila tastings all night rom El Nacimiento Hand-Crafted Tequila

Regular priced tickets are on sale now for $60, and will be $75 at the door.

Other ways to show the love:

  • Add a "Pay It Forward" to your order and help sponsor a member of the filmmaking community who might not be able to attend due to income. (Read more about our Pay It Forward Project)
  • Can't attend but still want to support one of our most essential fundraiser events of the year? We also offer a non-ticket $25 donation option, so you can still show the love and be there in spirit.

Awards Gala attendees arriving early are welcome to enjoy a pre-awards dinner in the Promontory's downstairs restaurant and receive 10% off.

A pay parking lot is located adjacent to The Promontory, metered street parking is available in the area.
