Volunteer with Midwest Film Festival
Be part of the community helping bring Midwest cinema to life.
Each year, filmmakers, artists, audiences, and creative professionals come together through Midwest Film Festival to celebrate the stories shaping our region. Behind every screening, conversation, workshop, and festival experience is a dedicated team of volunteers helping create meaningful moments for filmmakers and audiences alike.
Whether welcoming guests, supporting festival operations, assisting with special events, or helping audiences navigate the festival experience, volunteers play an essential role in fostering the vibrant and inclusive community that defines Midwest Film Festival.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering offers a unique opportunity to connect with filmmakers, industry professionals, and fellow film enthusiasts while gaining behind-the-scenes access to one of the Midwest's most active film communities.
Volunteers have the opportunity to:
Support screenings, events, and special programs
Meet filmmakers, artists, and industry professionals
Gain hands-on experience in festival operations
Connect with a passionate creative community
Help champion independent film and regional storytelling
Join the Team
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year, with our greatest need occurring during the annual Midwest Film Festival and Midwest Royale programming season.
To get started, complete our volunteer application through Timecounts. Once registered, you'll be able to explore upcoming opportunities, join volunteer teams, and sign up for available shifts as they become available.
As festival season approaches, registered volunteers will receive updates about new opportunities, event details, and ways to get involved.
Together, we're helping create the spaces where Midwest stories are discovered, celebrated, and shared.
