First Tuesdays: Best of the Midwest Awards Nomination Party - Dec. 4th!
It's time again for the Best of the Midwest Awards... and, this year, we're extending the fun across two nights, starting with our Best of the Midwest Awards Nomination Party. On Tuesday, December 4th, we'll kick off our own community awards season by announcing all the Best of the Midwest Award-nominated work, screen the nominated short films, and open up public voting! The results will all come together for our annual Best of the Midwest Awards gala event in January!
As ever, the evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. followed by "The State of Independent Filmmaking: Evolution, Opportunities and What's Ahead," a discussion with film critic Richard Roeper moderated by MIFF Executive Director Amy Guth at 6:30 p.m. The nomination announcements begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a screening of the five films nominated in the Best Short Film category. Immediately following, online and app-based voting will open to the public.
This special Best of the Midwest Awards Nomination Party is part of The Midwest Independent Film Festival’s monthly First Tuesday event series and will take place starting at 6pm at Landmark Century Cinema, 2828 N. Clark St., Chicago.
