The advertising and independent filmmaking communities converge for an inspiring night of short films as First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival hosts its tenth annual Advertising Community Shorts Night on Tuesday, November 5th.

This year's lineup includes: PNEUMA (dir. Partick Lewtschanyn), a story of transformation and light; DIVINO NIÑO | PLASTIC LOVE (dir. Alec Basse and Max Moore), the misadventures of a woman getting a massage from a robot; HENCHMAN (dir. Mike Roe), set in the gold era of the spy genre, this film is a day-in-the-life of a mild-mannered footsoldier considering the tradeoffs that come with protecting an evil genius; WELL DONE (dir. Brian Ernst) is the story of a man who needs his co-worker BBQ to go off without a hitch; QUEERS, EPISODE 1: RICH GAYS (dir. Michael Starcevich), in this episode, a hopeful brunch goes so wrong it's right; MILK AND COOKIES (dir. Patrick Mulvaney and Andrew Ramsay), the story of a young girl navigating her world with self-awareness and focus; E.R.A.M. (dir. William Schneider), the story of six people together by chance as they wait to be seen in a E.R.; KILLING IRMA (dir. Sarah Clark) the story of two best friends after a terminal diagnosis; THE MAN RESTORING ROCK AND ROLL (dir. Alec Pieper) a documentary about Geoff Benge, who has been building and restoring guitars for over 25 years, working on instruments for The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and others; CELLULOID (dir. Curtis Matzke), a documentary made as part of Chicago's historic Music Box Theatre celebrating its 90th anniversary earlier this year; and LAST STRAW (dir. Lance Catania), a haunting character study about a Chicago cop and an unnerving day on the job).

The event will take place at at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema, beginning at 6 p.m. with our signature pre-screening Producers Panel. Following the screening, we'll hold a Q&A discussiion with the filmmakers.
