The Keep It Colorful Tour coming to Chicago
The Keep it Colorful Tour is coming to Chicago and The Midwest Independent Film Festival is proud to be a co-host partner for this free event. The afternoon will include insights by actress Erika Alexander (Living Single, Get Out), a panel featuring local creative powerhouses, and a crowdfunding workshop by Seed&Spark's Head of Education and Outreach Julie Keck.
In hopes of connecting with storytellers, filmmakers, and other creators, Keep It Colorful is an initiative aimed at building meaningful impact for creators of color. The project, in partnership with crowdfunding and streaming platform Seed&Spark, entertainment and lifestyle network Black&SexyTV and Erika Alexander's diversity-focused media company, Color Farm Media, is focusing on educating filmmakers and supportively providing a platform.
Seed&Spark Founder Emily Best told Shadow and Act: “There’s a lot of talk in the industry on how to solve the ‘diversity problem,'” she said. “We’re coming together with one solution: getting work made by creators who have not yet had the chance to make it.”
